This little guy was invading the prairie dog's teritory.
It seems that the prairie dog was still sleeping so the Black-Necked Stilt has his day.
All pictures taken with Nikon D70 + Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro Super II

This place is all mine !

Interesting capture. A bird "out of water", so to speak.

(That bird looks like a water bird, that is why I said that)

Really good set.

Thanks everybody.
I am pretty lucky that the bird allow me to get that close.

Ginger,
I did not know that the stilt is a water bird.
I took this picture at our local zoo.
No exciting bird sanctuary here :dunno

Skippy,
I know, the stilt must've catched at least 3 - 4 worms that morning.
I did not see the prairie dog at all. Probably not that interested in worms :D

Thanks Ben,
I did not know that butt shot is huge around here :D
I'll post more gratuitous butt shot in the future :rofl

LOL Bochie,
It's not the we really enjoy bird butt shots that much, it's just that most of us get so many of them, we feel obliged to share....lol

Nice shots of this pretty shorebird :thumb :thumb I was sort of wondering why he needed to worry about prairie dogs though (and also why he was banded). Now that you mention that these were shot in a zoo, it all makes sense :rolleyes
