How to link Galleries Category?

I want to hide the galleries category in my homepage so that i would just display the slideshow and use my nav bar button "Galleries" to jump to it but my nav bar link keeps jumping back to my homepage. Any help?

You are missing the code to create the galleries page and you are looking at
your actual homepage with the galleries link.

See this tutor and scroll down to "The Galleries Page" section and apply that.
