Another green metallic bee from me -- not that I'm complaining, I like photographing them.

Thanks! These guys are pretty tiny (~10mm) so this was taken at 1:1 (and my experiment with a reversal ring did not work out, sadly), but here's a crop of the head -- I think my Flickr settings will let you click through to the 100% original, but let me know if it doesn't, and I can post that directly.

you need a set of kenko extension tubes to double the magnification

That would be nice. Pretty far out of my budget at the moment though. I might try a reversing ring with my 50mm, since I know that works -- I was using an old Canon FD mount 28mm with the ring I have right now, and I'm not convinced the lens itself isn't busted. Or cheap eBay tubes, since I don't really need to change the aperture much with the way that I shoot.
