View Full Version : Full moon over the cabin
We had a full moon this weekend so I got out the tripod and took a few shots of our cabin. I gave up waiting for the clouds to be just right for fear they'd only get worse. This was the best of the bunch. Some of the lights caused the chairbacks on the porch to blowout but otherwise I'm pretty happy with this one. What should I have done to make it better?

i'm no expert, but i think taking the shot from a bit farther away would've made the photo more interesting to me. other than that, i love how the colors came out.

I want to stay there for two weeks! Hahaha:lust I think overall it is a good picture. ( 1 ) You are right about the over exposed part of the first front porch chair though. ( 2 ) The clouds are a bit distracting too, it kind of gives me that they are out of focus, which means that it ruins that beautiful moon, for me anyways..... ( 3 ) That " brown object" in the bottom left of the image is distracting also. ( 4 ) Very good angle, and perspective!
Before cropping there was much more sky, but the clouds were not very uniform with dark clouds creating pure black sections of sky instead of the wispy glowing lines I was hoping to capture. But, I've heard the Full Moon comes atleast once a month so I'll have more chances.
I too would like to go there for two weeks. When I get depressed about it my wife reminds me that it's the very work that keeps me away that allows us to have it. Some day I hope to retire there.
