As you may know there was a skyshoot yesterday. The idea was for members to get a shot of the sky from wherever they were, all at the same time.

http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=13212 if you haven't looked

That converted to 2:00 PM PDT. This one was really a little too late (2:40) for the spirit of the shoot, but it's somewhat better than the one that I posted it that thread.

The Santa Monica Bay taken from Topanga Canyon State Park. If you checkout the thread you will see the redeeming value of weather (note Andy's beautiful shot).

Too bad you could not reach it in time..

Although, come think of it, 2PM is only a mean time for the whole time zone, and I'm not sure our area is in the exact middle of it:-).

Anyway - looks like you had youself a good hike:-)

That's a real nice shot Gary. I like the view and the framing with the trees.

I think we can continue with the spirit of the skyshoot (timed group shots), but use variations on the time and subject. We'll see.

I think many of us were thinking there'd be more participation than we have so far, but with Father's Day and the fact that this was the first time we tried something like this, turnout was lower than expected.

Thanks Nikolai, perhaps we can meet for a photo walk in the Santa Monicas sometime. All hikes with the 828 are good ones!

Gary

I also thought there would be more. Perhaps the idea was a little confusing at first. I think it would be helpful for such events to be "advertized" in the other
forums. The landscape area in particular for something like this (unless it was and I missed it). Anyway, thanks for the effort.
