After finishing up with the yard work Saturday morning it was time to get rid of the brush that has been accumulating in the fire pit over the past few months. After getting the fire burning I decided to grab my camera and experiment with high speed shutter captures of the fire. Here are a few samples of what I got...

I don't know if anyone else will see it but when I started processing the photos I noticed a shape in the flames of the next photo that to me looks like a dragon rising out of the flames.

There are more photo in my "Fire Study #1" (http://shadesofhyperion.smugmug.com/gallery/8794242_KYXYw/1/582252596_Wb5zf) gallery, feel free to take a look.

When I was young, we used to do a fair amount of camping, and I just loved watching the campfire... #1 brings back those memories, I like it the best.

I enjoyed viewing these. I am impressed by your compositions as well as each stands by itself as a nice photo.

Will you share what your "high speed" shutter is?

Thanks for sharing.
