The trip to France was awesome. It was great to see family that I hadn't in waaayyy too long. I'm still sorting through some 2,000 pics (gotta love digital!), but this one's my favorite. Your thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Although it's hard to get the whole effect because even on my 21 inch monitor I have to scroll to see the bottom (hint, hint :D )
Oddly it has almost a Moorish effect with the arch and the orange sun, I wouldn't think I was seeing Paris.

Dee, if I'm getting your hint, I did try cropping it some, but then it sort of lost something. Call it maybe "space", "scale", or "grandeur", I'm not really sure, but something was missing. I'd also played with the foreground and tried different variations of lightening and darkening it before I decided to go with the current version. Hopefully, it gives just enough detail that it helps to define the base of the pyramid and the arch and draws your eye into it, without becoming a distraction.
This was actually my first view of the pyramid as I approached from another courtyard through the building and arches. It was impressive!
Thanks for the comments everyone!

Oooh, great. The golden light is a pure marvel - I love the abstract. I feel a bit annoyed by the unlevel ground. It could be corrected, but may be demanding.
