I like the first one. Very sharp photo. Where was this taken?

Hi Chris, this is Belmont park in San Diego / Mission Beach. The first pic is actually a HDR and I only sharpened it using selective high pass to cover the coaster at 4 pixel. I think the 14-24mm has something to do with it's sharpness lol.

If it is too sharp folks let me know.

Thanks

They're both great pictures.

I think I would like have done one more shot, using the same EV as the second, but stopped down the lens and made the shutter speed twice as long. I'd like to see the car lights go all the way across instead of being intermittent…

PS: Actually I think the shutter-speed would be eight times as long (and stop down the lens by three stops)

Wil I know what you mean, I need to go back, I had already stopped down to f16 also I did not have the remote, I was using the self timer and I could not get a pic with streaming lights all the way through. I've few that they are almost all the way across but not all the way. :rofl Also, I wanted a shot with the actual cart on the rails.

Now how did you do that. I do have CS3 but I only use it for creating borders lol. I use NX2 for processing.

I also like the second one most. The parked cars in the foreground of the first image kind of ruin it for me.

I like the idea behind what Marcel did. I think you just needed a slightly longer shutter speed so the light streaks would blur together as one band across the bottom of the image.
