My Slideshow button is blank in IE8...works in FF
Would someone please look and let me know if it is the same for them?

That button is actually an Adobe Flash object so I'd suggest that you might want to either re-install Adobe Flash or make sure flash isn't being blocked. I don't see this issue in FF3 or IE7.

Must be an IE8 thing.
It works on my machine in IE7

This is the second IE8 compatibility issue I discovered this weekend on SM. I thought this was going to be the release that put an end to all that?

It takes minutes to reinstall Adobe Flash from their site which often fixes these kinds of things. Try it.

I did that right after you suggested it could be the problem, No change. Rebooted the computer too.

Not a issue if it's just me that doesn't see it.

No, Monte, it's not an IE8 issue, nor a SmugMug Issue.

This typically happens when you run things like Adblock+ or other addons. Remove all your addons and let's see what the button does, OK?

Thanks Andy,
Good to know it is just me.

I don't know what the heck can be causing me problems, Like the missing 'continue browsing' button in the shopping cart... I must have a messed up IE8. I disabled all add-ons, I have no pop-up blockers. Just glad it is not important.
