I saw a GWE so I had to stop and shoot. It was starting to get dark so My results weren't that great but I plan on getting some better shots sometime in the next couple of weeks. I think this is the best shot from tonight so far. It was shot at iso 400 with bad light so it's kinda grainy. Tell me what you think, be honest...

He let me get this close. It was shot at about 135mm and no cropping.

Hey Gary,
I like the shot a lot. :thumb
I would have tried for the whole reflection if I was framing the shot. I keep looking for the egret's head in the reflection.
The exposure and colors are excellent.

I wasn't thinking about it at the time but he is there often so I will try again soon.

Gary,
This isn't bad at all considering the lighting and the distance :thumb

from one who knows --after the first few times and the excitement calms -then you try to compose the shots more but at first it's o boy o boy shot and i still do it with any new subject I can now shoot a duck bif and mess up a pelican :dunno Harry says it gets easier ---but he does not say when :rofl

Gary, very nice shot.
I now can officially agree about composing. I'm new at wildlife, just got back from Yosemite and had a few seconds to shoot a bear in low light. I was so flustered, and had I not looked at one of the quickly taken pics on the lcd, I would have blown them all. Luckily, I got a few more shots off although not great, sure were better than the first 5!
