Congrats on your 1st BIFs :clapand though they may be common, I have seen some excellent gull shots. Ones that rival any raptor shots I've viewed. So don't feel like you've shot unworthy subjects. As others have mentioned, these guys are great to practice on and most of us got our first BIFs shooting gulls :D It's sort of a rite of passage :lol

Gulls make great practice for tracking and following and focusing. You can learn a lot about gulls and your camera's focusing ability! I still fight with getting just what I want. I carry old oyster crackers in the back of the car to attract them and my assistant (hubby or daughter) throw them up to attract the gulls.
