Good day mates, spent the last 2 days at the Antique Motorcycle Collectors Association Grand National Meet in Rhinebeck NY. There was barrell riding, wall of death, globe of death, freestyle MX, and more antique bikes than you could shake a stick at and I went in with my new D300 and owners manual in hand..

I kept repeating NW Scouts great advice. "don't take a picture, create a picture"

will upload more later today.

anyone have any idea what would cause the blotch in the area of her left hand?

NW Scouts great advice. "don't take a picture, create a picture"

which can be as simple as waiting for people walking across grass to get out of the frame when possible.

Congratulations on the D300; nice pictures! When I first got mine I spent a couple of evenings going through the destruction manual before I ventured out with it.

I think the blotch on the hand is an internal reflection in the lens; the sun was in front of the camera and the lens hood (if you were using one) wasn't quite deep enough.

Good luck with the D300 (fabulous camera; I love mine!)

Good first outing:thumb

The spot looks like what I would call a sun spot but Will might have hit the nail on the head. Most of the time a sun spot will be in the shape of a circle.

Take Care,
Chuck
