Very nice, Randy! I'm never sure when I look at lion shots with their mouths open, if they are yawning or roaring :D

The color palette in the butterfly shot is also fantastic!

Thanks thapamd. In this case the lion was yawning....I have another shot from the series with his mouth absolutely agape and it's much easier to tell he's yawning.

I like the sharpness of the lion's mouth and teeth! Good colors in his mane, too.

Good shot of the Tiger Swallowtail, too. It's not always easy capturing butterflies. Sometimes they're only still for a second and off they go.

Thanks Ann. I was lucky to get the shot of the butterfly. It was flitting all around and kept getting spooked by kids walking by.

Great shots.
I am however finding the colors around the Lion detracting. Maybe a little dark vignetting would help. My eyes keep looking away from it because the grass is so bright.

I never catch any of the cats awake at the zoo. every time I go they are all sleeping. Looks like you got there just in time. a few more minutes and this one may have been out.

Thanks dsm02c & midnight rider. I've adjusted the vibrance of the grass so it should tone that down quite a bit so it isn't so distracting.
