I have a smugmug pro account. I can log into my account and see my website owner/visitor view that way, but when I try www.proutportraiture.com. It doesn't work.

What gives?

Hi, I'm so sorry - Your site is not down. http://proutportraiture.smugmug.com/ is working.

But Your domain http://www.proutportraiture.com/ is not working, that's for sure. Where do you have it hosted?

I purchased my domain name through godaddy. I've been trying to log in there but it keeps giving me errors. AUGH!

Hi, why don't you let us help you ? Write to our help desk, ATTN: Doc - and we'll get your domain issue sorted out. You'll need to give Doc access to your godaddy account.

We're standing by!

That would be great! However- I can't access my godaddy account. I pulled out my receipt of purchase from godaddy so I know my customer number is correct and when I give them my email address to retrieve my password (I'm not sure if I'm remembering it correctly) it comes up with an error. What the heck???

It's not just you. I started having the same problem tonight. Can see photos in galleries using my smugmug address but not my godaddy address. I put in a ticket with godaddy so we'll see what happens...

Mrs. Prout,

I checked your domain using some tools that allow me to see the public setup information. It indicates that the domain is not active or responding to my queries. So it is either not setup correctly, or possible down at GoDaddy. I can check the settings if you send me the login information at the help desk. But this may be something you need to check first at GoDaddy. If you are unable to login, there may be an issue you need to work out with GoDaddy first.

Siren,

I just checked your domain and everything is working for yours. Is it still down? It may have been a temporary issue.

The issue has come up again. Now only one gallery in particular won't load when accessing the site through sos-photography.net. I got a reply from godaddy I don't quite understand:

"I was unable to find a hosting plan in your Go Daddy account. Your domain is currently pointing to our nameservers. If you are using a third party hosting provider you will need to change your nameservers to point to them."

What am I supposed to change the nameservers to? I have the DNS set.

for the nameservers, do not change them. SmugMug does not have nameservers and the defaults work just fine. I use them for all of my domains. The tech that replied is probably looking at a standard web setup.
