Well, I dunno exactly, Mark!:dunno

This plant was growing on lichen covered rocks just above the beach. They are some kind of succulent, I'm guessing, they look similar to what we call pigface.

Yeah they do look chilli-like. Whether the resemblance goes further I can't say. I wasn't tempted to taste them!:wink
