I am not sure it is the best way but I found a 3rd party application called Star Explorer that does this and much more.

You can try it out for free but I just used it to upload over 5000 pictures to my new smugmug account and I really liked it. I just wished there was as good a program for pbase and flickr when I used those sites.

I'd also like a way to enable downloading entire galleries. :D

I want to be able to enable a client to download the entire gallery for example, instead of him/her having to click each photo and download OR waiting for me to deliver his/her DVD(s).

Any way to make this happen? :scratch

Did you look at either of the applications I mentioned in the post above yours? You will need to enable originals in the gallery if you want to give your client full quality downloads - not needed if you offered them something less than that.
