showcasing new photos?

what is the easiest way to show the newest photos added to my site? i have tried linking to the RRS feed but that does not seam work (it always shows 0 new photos). i also tried doing a seperate new photos gallery but that caused me to double up my images.

ideally what i want to do is have a "New Photos" button in my navigation that links to a gallery/page of my recent photos (say those of the last 30 days or the last 20 uploads, or so)

any suggestions?

I use a hack that was published here a long time ago - can't remember who wrote it, but I posted the code here (http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=913748&postcount=5).
