My wife was very quick to get her camera and rush to take a picture of ducks she saw in our pool this morning ( we have never had ducks before even near our pool ). But lo and behold the biggest surprise is what they left behind sitting on the edge ( an egg ) ...... what to do?

I guess you and the missus will need to head to the local pond specialty store .... purchase a large supply of aquatic plants and make the pool comfortable for the "renters" You don't really need a pool in the summer after all!
At least she was kind enough not to leave the egg in the pool! Very cool photo, thanks for sharing it.

Well, if is is hot where you are at that egg is about hard boiled by now from sitting on that concrete. Are they watching it/nesting on it? Strange.

About 5 minutes after my dw took the pic a bluejay flew overby, startling the ducks. They flew away and did not return. Some neighbors said throw the egg away, some said bring it down to a lake. My wife moved it to a nearby mulch bed near some flowers hoping the ducks might return. this morning the egg is gone ;( and there ar eno signs of shell / yolk anywhere

They will return! Happens every year at my house. One year we had 6 baby ducks for a few weeks. Of course the kids thought it was neat. I wasn't so thrilled with having to clean up all their "presents". Now I send the kids out to chase them away at 1st sighting and they move on. But, they still drop in for a visit every year.

Poaching is much easier, but you can always roast whatever comes out of that egg!
