I followed the article by Denise on how to start a new blog. I established my blog which can be found HERE (http://jeffreygibsonphotography.smugmug.com/gallery/8370692_JPEHn). I have not posted a blog yet however.
I have 2 questions:
1. I do not want the banner to appear in this smugmug gallery. How do I
remove it?
2. I can't get the blog gallery to take on the "Earth Theme" like the rest of
my galleries. What is the trick to this?
Thanks in advance.

The intent of my instructions were to not put your blog into a gallery. The intent was to link to your blog from your navbar where the blog is a standalone entity, not something that is embedded in a gallery. Embedding it in a gallery will probably end up with embedded scroll bars - which can be quite annoying to your viewers.
It is possible to copy a theme over to your blog, but I haven't done it myself. If you look at Lori's blog at http://offtopicphotography.blogspot.com/ you can see an example of this. You will need to use Firefox web developer to look at her code and see how she copied the format over. You will need to pick up the code from your theme and apply it in blogger.
I have no idea what you mean by "I don't want the banner to appear...". You haven't removed the blogger band or the blogger title. There are instructions on how to do both in the thread HOW TO match your blog to your smug site (blogger-specific) (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=101262).

Sorry Denise, the banner I was referring to was my main banner at the top of the page. I also may have misunderstood your article. I simply followed this portion of your post:
There is a simple way to show a blog within your smug site, and that is to embed your blog within an HTML-only gallery. If you'd like to take that approach, richW posted instructions in this post - http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=628906&postcount=4. If that's your chosen method, you're done!
Didn't

And all that method does is take your blog as is and make it available within a gallery. There is no attempt made to match the look of your blog to your smugmug site. If you want your blog to look like your smugmug site then you need to follow the other instructions in that thread. For a true match - including the theme that you want to use, there are no shortcuts.
When you say main banner, do you mean your smugmug banner? or do you mean the blogger banner? Notes on how to remove the blogger banner and blogger's "next blog" band are in the "how to match..." thread.
