Just received a brandnew Olympus Tough 8000.
Will be testing it this weekend mounted with a RAM-mount on the handlebar of my motorcycle on a 4 day trip to Germany.
Results probably here next week.

OK, here are the results of the belgian judges: 7/10 points
Overall impression: not bad, but had expected better of a 12mp camera.
One strange thing: When the camera was on, as soon as I started my bike or was riding, it began running through the macro menu. Vibration of the bike does have an influence on the performance. Half of the pictures and videos I took are blurred because I pressed the shutter when it was going through the macro menu :cry
Some examples of the better ones: (All pictures have been treated with Noise Ninja and sharpened)

For indoor pictures, I find this camera to be rather useless:
(My 1D MkIII had less noise at iso3200)

A sample video: (640 x 480 at 30 fps)
<object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2008120101.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9NTUzODI3MTI2Jms9QkR6dHgmYT04NDE1OTkzX0p3YU5zJnU9R1NQZVA=" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2008120101.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9NTUzODI3MTI2Jms9QkR6dHgmYT04NDE1OTkzX0p3YU5zJnU9R1NQZVA=" width="640" height="480" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Finally, a comparison: on the left Olympus - on the right 1D MkIII

Mhhjaa.. just dont take it with you in the water after you've dropped it. Went snorkeling with mine and boy.. Cameras and salt water dont mix.. :rolleyes
but i think they are the only real option in this segment atm..

The Olympus µTough 8000 has a nice feature to take panoramic shots.
My first tests with it:
Pano from 2 pictures (stitched in the camera)

Pano from 3 pictures (stitched in the camera)

Thanks for posting the results. Anyone got any comparisons to the Panasonic TS1/FT1?
