Another crummy day for taking photos.
Only one that turned out OK.

Outstanding Dave. http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/ylsuper.gif You froze the action of the take off perfectly. I love the water action in the shot. You handled a very difficult exposure well.

Not yet. That lens should be here Tuesday or Wednesday. This shot was taken
with the Sigma 80-400.
But I would like to thank you again for your help on getting that lens.

Harry, These darn birds are so skittish around here it's unreal.

I had just gotten out of the car and set-up the camera on the monopod.
I was going to snap a couple of him while he was standing there. I had just
gotten a focus lock when he took off. I got one other pic of him in flight,
but it's blurry.

I think if I would have had the EV at -1/3 the shot would have been better.
The good news is, I'm starting to realize what I need to do to make the
pic better. You and Andy have a big part in that. So if I haven't said it
before, Thank you for all your help and comments. I appreciate it.

I agree about the EV setting. You have a small bit of blow out on the left wing. Mastering the EV settings for subjects like an egret is the key to getting better shots.
