black and white conversion picture

I've been working on my black and white conversions, but am not sure how this looks. Sometimes a conversion will look great on my computer, but is too hot/bright when printed. My monitor is calibrated, so it also looks completely different on my husband's monitor, which is not calibrated. What do you think, and is the monitor you are using, calibrated or not? If you were to change anything on the post-process of this image, what would it be, and how would you do it? I am using Photoshop CS2.
