At last, i have been trying to get a shot of this elusive heron for over 1 year. I was walking a remote lake when i saw a pair of Heron on the far side of the lake. After stalking for over 2 hours i finally got a shot of my tarhet.

The Green Heron is fairly scarce here and they are always very cautious.

Very nice shots. The coloration is very different for a Heron, at least in my limited experience. Interesting bird.

Good captures Pete. They are a very shy bird. We have a lot of them down here but there are still very hard to capture. You did good here. :thumb

Yes this Heron is very shy here also, a great bird with some wonderful colors. Lots of stealth needed .

You did a great job of "hunting" him down without spooking him. The shots show such color and clarity.

fantastic.

Good work Pete :thumb:thumb

Yep, those Green Herons don't like people much :uhoh You can walk right past them and they won't move, but if they know you are looking at them or stalking them, forget about it :rolleyes Because of this, I've got a ton of Greenie butt shots.....LOL
