I put ogether a before and after comparison that starts in ACR with a RAW photo, adds a faux LOMO effect there, and then proceeds to Photoshop to add a faux film grain effect.

I'm not a fan of the LOMO look, generally, but I wanted a fresh interpretation for a coastal shot of pelicans and cormorants. The blue sky and blue water with lots of saturated colors seemed like a good candidate for a LOMO-type shot. Some might consider the effect here a bit over the top. That's OK. it's all adjustable. ;)

In the end, I think the LOMO effect added interest to the shot.

Anyways, if you want to see a dull RAW photo go through ACR and get some creative treatment, take a look.
