Frogy time

In the beginning of May I had a chance to visit Seitseminen Natural park - once again, one of my favorite places.
It happened to be the main breeding time for frogs and toads. There were frogs all over the place, doing frogy things. Some samples here from Olympus E3, 12-60mm and 70-300mm.


Frogs had some extraordinary behaviour: mixed frogballs from different species, some common frogs doing something, that seemed like taking care of the eggs - throwing water on them, and keeping water moving around the eggs : the pond where they were got ice at night everywhere else, but around the eggs... I could not get a photo from that, because the frogs were too shy at that place, and dived as soon as they saw any movement.
But the others were not too shy...
Some Common European frogs, Some common toads. Some mixing.

I'll get the iron skillet and the lemon juice, shallots, flour, diced tomatoes, green onions, and we'll make dinner out of them :)

And as you can see, they are working wery hard not to end up in extinction.


Seriously, I'm not sure if anybody has ever eaten one of these kind of frogs... I think toads skin has some poison in it.
