Allow 1 image to be in multiple galleries

I can't believe that it isn't possible to have a single image in multiple galleries. This is pretty basic and I thought this feature would be a given when I paid up to join SmugMug. In fact I didn't even bother looking for it during my free trial as i just assumed the feature would be there.

I really like the galleries and the customization and my page looks great. It is spolied a little though by the fact if I want to have images in multiple galleries I have to either copy or upload them multiple times.

Please add this feature. It can't be that difficult can it?

This is one of the most requested features, as far as I can tell. You will find posts referring to Virtual Galleries, same thing. I've been hoping to see this from SmugMug for several years now.

I trawled through the archives a bit...............like I said I'm surprised such a simple basic feature isn't standard. I mean, even the free Flickr accounts have it.

It's not an exaggeration to say that I would have looked elsewhere if I'd known SmugMug didn't have it.

If I copy photos multiple times to multiple galleries it means my photo timeline feature is all messed up with multiple copies of the same photo everywhere.

Anyway, not the end of the world I suppose.

Well, hopefully the fine folks at HQ are reading this and all of the other requests for this feature. I too thought this would be a feature that SmugMug would have, especially when a lot of other sites are starting to catch up with some very useful features like this.

Yes, I agree. There are many hoping that SM will provide two new tools mentioned repeatedly:
Add same tools for COPY in Many Photos as Move now has, to make standalone copies in other galleries with option to change caption, keywords, geo, etc.
Virtual Galleries...add tools to place uneditable virtual copies of photos in other galleries that maintain captions, keywords, geo of 'original' and are updated when 'original' is updated.I keep hearing that #1 is at least being considered.

I'd also like to toss in my request for this feature as well. I'd be really useful in organizing my photos to allow me to have either virtual galleries, or galleries of virtual copies.
