he looks like he just gave birth, or she, or whatever.

gotta get my morning coffee. but that is one ratty looking heron. "My" heron looked like that after the babies "hatched".

OK Ok I did pay him to clean up butt you know they are temperamental and he said it was is bad side I :scratch :dunno he was right :huh
