Printing from Jpeg and not Tiff?

Why does SM use Jpegs to print from?

Even at high quality, Jpeg files still lose data in compression. Is there a noticeable loss in quality when comparing prints originating from a HQ jpeg vs a Tiff?

All my photos upped to SM are 100% quality (In Lightroom, I don't move the slider to further compress them, I guess this is equivalent to 12 in PS?).

The labs all print from JPGs. You won't notice any difference, we promise :D Quality JPGs produce amazing quality prints.
