It would be nice to have a homepage section where one can show selected photos from different galleries. I'm thinking in something similar to the 'Most Popular Photos' section, but in this 'Feature Photots' it would be me the one choosing the photos. I would use this to show visitors (specially those that have already seen the galleries) a quick sample of the newest & best pictures uploaded to the site.

If you have a Power account and aren't averse to a bit of customization, you could install my "Recent Photos" hack, and modify it to display "Favorite Photos" (title change), and point it at a keyword RSS feed for "favorite".
Then any photo you tagged as "favorite" would show up.
Here's the code:

The lines you'd want to change are:
var rssurl = "http://YOURSITE.smugmug.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=userkeyword&Nickname=YOURSITE&Data=favorite&format=rss200&ImageCount=" + imagecount ;
var recentTitleText = 'Favorite Photos' ;
I haven't tested this, but it should work in theory. :-} Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks for the info; I'm going to chech it out and give it a try (as I do have a Power account). Given the facts that (1) someone wrote all that code to have a 'Favorites' section on the homepage and (2) others have tried it, it proves that I'm not the only one who would like to see this as a built-in feature.
So, I'll try it; but the request is still on the table. :D

As the person who wrote this hack (originally to replicate a Flickr-style "Photostream"), I'm grateful that the SmugMug customization tools allow me to do it, but I'm frustrated that I had to do it at all.
So I second the feature request!
