I have 3 clips. They are divided into 2 x 10 minute clips and 1 x 8 minute clip. I started the upload, came home and found only the 1st clip showing. I did it again, went to bed and woke up again with just the first clip showing. The total clip is 38 minutes and cut using avisplitter to get that 10 minute maximum...same codec used, but the last 2 bits won't show.
What should I do?

The first step anytime you have trouble uploading is to check your upload log. Go to your control panel on the stats page. There is a view log link there. Or go here: http://www.smugmug.com/homepage/uploadlog.mg
I checked your log and it says that the videos are longer than 600 seconds. Ie. 10 minutes. 10 minutes is the limit.
So for a given video, 9:59 will upload, 10:01 will not. I always recommend cutting the video at 9:59 just to be safe.

I checked my video file size and it was over the 10 minute mark by a second...
I wish that instead of "Upload complete" it would say "File size too big" or something.

That does stink. The problem is that most of the uploaders do not actually look at the files themselves and cannot tell what is inside. Only when the file gets to the server does it actually realize the error.
I have been working with the programmers on a new design that will be more informative :thumb

The problem is that the uploader doesn't know the duration of the video it just knows the file size. Until it's all been uploaded & analysed there is no easy way of assessing what the duration is. The onus therefore is on the uploader to check the duration & not waste their time uploading a file that exceeds 10 minutes.

Just to clarify, "uploader" in your post refers to the person doing the uploading. :wink

I do want to add that I am guilty of it. :D
I have to remind myself to check my files before uploading. Wrong file type, too large, not the edited version... It is my responsibility. I know its my fault. :rofl
