I had the pleasure to photograph the Petite Le Mans last year. This race ran into night. Lighting was sparse but the car lights gave the race a different quality. Interesting issues when shooting, the glare from the lit blacktop unsaturated some of the color, not unlike reflected sunlight.

I like the 2nd but think more context is needed for these to work well--otherwise, it's just bright dots.

I think he means don't crop so tight???

I like the first, except the first car half in shot. I like the fact that you still decided to shoot in the dark.

They are dark enough that I don't see cars. Just lights.

Interesting. You might double-check the calibration on your monitor; some of your settings might have shifted. There's a lot more in the images than just lights.
