Well, unfortunately turn of events did not allow for me to meet up with Harry in St. Augustine... we'll have to meet up another time. (darn!) Right after that... I moved my residence (got myself a condo), dats why you havn't seen me here in a little while. Did you miss me? lol
However, who needs a rookery when I'm sitting on a bird goldmine here on the beautiful west coast of Florida? :):
This guy just caught himself some crab lunch

This guy must feel as though man is one dirty intrusion into his natural setting...... sad isn't it?

Markjay, I love them. I like the bottom one best, because I laughed out loud. I never think the birds mind, but we humans who value nature and landscapes, we mind. Tree huggers or something, we are supposed to be.
The birds just make do, as the egret very well shows us. If we are going to put it there, he might as well use it.
ginger (I haven't had crab meat in a long time, somewhat jealous of that heron, but I do like mine cooked.)

They eat crab? I'd think the crab would wave it's legs and try to pinch the egret?????
Sorry you didn't get to meet up with Harry! Two ex-New Yorkers.... I'd love to be a fly on the wall :rofl
Congrats on your new home, hope you're settled in now.
