Greetings,

I'm curious to what others charge for product photography when it comes to large quanities of items. Do you base it on a per item? Day rate to include the images? Or some other way.

My potential client is requesting that I take photos of some items he has (roughly 300 items) to be used as hi-res photos for a website is working on.

My first thought was a set-up fee and then charge per image. What's fair for both client and me?

I'm going to figure out my time tonight but thought I might get some input from fellow dGrinners.

Thank You,

Anthony

A lot depends on whether the items are small or large and one time sales, or unlimited.

For small quick set up photos.

If they are selling one specific item for that photo I would charge $5 to $8 per finished photo (based on 300 items).

If they are selling multiple items based on that photo (stock), I would charge $15 to $20 per finished image (based on 300 items)

For large complicated set ups I would adjust the quote based on $1800 per day for one time items and $2800 for multiple time use photos.

Thank you Steve, that helps point me in the right direction.

BTW, I really like how you have laid out your website.

Take care,

Anthony
