Its really hard to know who is a Hero and who is a long established Dgrinner/SmugMugger replying to posts sometimes. Could they please use a universal user title in their Dgrin profile like RichW does ?

Caroline

Sorry if this in the wrong place, didn't know where to post :-)

Andy What does this mean ????

Do you really expect us to remember all heroes by name ? Obviously one or two are unforgettable :D

CarolineCaroline I'm really not following you. Our heroes are and have been identified, as you asked.

What more do you want, I must be totally daft :dunno

Andy, I believe she was looking for something a little bit more...inline.

For example, a few of the heroes now have updated their taglines so they say something about being a hero.

As much as I like the cute things that go in the tagline sometimes, it might not be a bad idea to put a prefix in there, like "SM Hero - *insert tagline here*". That way, it's pretty clear when reading posts who is a hero and who isn't, even for newcomers. I've been here almost 9 months, and I still only know of half the heroes, I think, so a consistent marking on dgrin would be kinda nice!

To the OP, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.

Thanks Andy!

And of course, now that I'm going through the list above and checking taglines, it seems they all have some form of Support Hero in their tagline. :dunno

Assuming they all have that, I can't imagine what the OP could want more than that!

Well maybe one of us is:dunno

I thought I was making myself clear with this :-
"Could they please use a universal user title in their Dgrin profile like richW does ? "

His user title is SmugMug Support Hero - nice and obvious for everyone

Thando has SmugMug Help Hound - again nice and obvious
Seamus just has Major Grins - like hundreds of others
Schmoo has "Bonnie & _____"

Do you see what I'm getting at now ?

I'm not wingeing Andy, it just seems glaringly obvious to me that the Heroes should be individually identified as such when they post and it not be necessary to refer to another thread/post to check up who is and isn't, especially now there are quite a few more.

Thanks Nick, you understood what I was getting at, they don't ALL have something in their taglines which is why I mentioned it. It was just a small point that I thought would make things more obvious to new people and those of us who forget their own name sometimes :rofl

It really isn't such a big deal, I'll just crawl away under a stone and forget about it.

No need to crawl under a stone!

It's the small things that SM takes care of that make me love them! And DGrin is no different! I'm sure once Andy sees this, he'll find a way to make sure the heroes are more apparent.

I like the idea of a consistent tagline. I didn't check everyone of the heroes' tags, but most had some variation on it. It would be nice to see a consistent way to identify them though, and making sure all the heroes used it. Not a big deal at all (and if it takes away from coupons or packages, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't stop on them!!!! :rofl), but the little things are the best things sometimes.

Thanks,
Nick

Caroline

I actually have a bit of a different perspective here.

When I answer a support question, I do so with my hero hat on.

But I have been active on DGrin a long time, and as a photography nut. I like to participate in the photography part of the forum, and in that case have no official capacity.

CarolineI get what you mean, thanks.

Seamus is not a SmugMug Support Hero anymore, he's retired.

Schmoo's info is in her Sig, I think, if not, she'll fix it.

Caroline, all the heroes have some SmugMug designation. I dunno what more I can do or say :dunno

Well no, I don't want you to be in a fog! Is there something that we need to still do to make sure heroes are identified? As far as I can tell, looking at all the heroes profiles on Dgrin, they are identified as Heroes but if someone's slacking then we'll fix it :D
