Personally I think the skin tones could do with being a little bit darker (particularly the 3rd shot). I'm also seeing a slight blue cast in the skin tones (particularly in the 1st and 3rd shots). Not sure if that would be less obvious with a slight darkening.

Also, on less of a processing tip, I find the poses in the first two images a little unnatural. His smile in the third shot looks natural and relaxed though, very nice.

Mind you its not my style, but the light seems to be too strong on the bridge of his nose... And the skin color could be little darker. Might have underexposing it just 1/3 might have brought out the Olive skin against the white.. But then again what do I know..:bow

Ps would liek to post some of mine but I think one day I figure out how to get some of my pics from pbase to show in posts, things are different on Mac...lol

I have rechecked the CMY values on the skin, C is between 10% and 50% of M, and M is average 10% lower than Y. In the PS Info pane white is very close to neutral.

Ahmed is Saudi-Moroccan, so his skin color is distinct from Southern Mediterranean, Indian and Latino etc. As you can imagine, and it's the usual experience, authentic skin tone which is also pleasing is often difficult to achieve.

When you look at these, think "advertising" more than "portrait", this might make the glossiness of the skin and the artificiality of the poses more 'understandable'(?).

That's all in the way of context.

I have taken on board your remarks, and I'm going now to try an adjustment on the skin processing to bring it closer to what you both 'expect'.

I find it to be overly smoothed. It appears almost plasticky....as the texture is no longer apparent. Of the three, the third seems to have the strongest of this effect, though it is also evident in the others. IMO its a tad too much.

They are fun and energetic photos....whatever the purpose may be.

Thanks for the encouragement! It just might do (maybe the best I can expect - it's not sharp, the main problem, I was doing a handheld ad lib in parlous indoor light - that's tempting fate!). I'll see what I can do with the other two.
