Had some crazy dark clouds and no light so I pulled out the battery pac strobes and played a little.
I worked the first image set up for a while and got about 5 or so that turned out pretty cool.
Definitely my favorite of the night, though I still like the killer glow after sundown

How did the riders feel about the lights?
First shot is great the flags really draw you in.

No problem with the lights.
I placed them far off the track and side lit most of the shots.
Much better for the rider IMO than an on camera flash.

Cool shots. Really like how the motorcycles & riders pop against the darker sky.

Love the first and last ones! The riders (or parents of!) would be nuts not to ask for posters of those! The setting sun glow... Great! Love the side lighting - can you explain some more of your setup? Wide angle certainly adds a whole new vibe to them. The flags do add more to the 'story' of the pic. Overall :clap !!

I agree that the wide-angle really gives an interesting perspective and the background of the shots are really cool.
My first responses when I saw the the ones in the first post were: great backgrounds and nice capture of the actions but the fact that the framing had the riders all going out of the frame instead of into the frame - all of the space is at the left and the riders don't have any place to go.
