Thanks, Ric. This redpoll shot is probably the most technically well executed bird image I've ever captured. Granted the equipment helps a lot :D

Thanks, Dan. Those darn chickadees feed so early in the AM around here it makes for tough lighting. Pretty soon they'll have no choice though. Daylight's gaining every day. There are dozens of redpolls and they feed all day :dunno

Very nice images.
The Black-capped Chickadee is very common here in southern Ontario, but, the bird in your image is considerably lighter through the breast than those found here. You did very well here considering how quick these little guys can be.
I'm not familiar with the Redpole. Is this a member of the Sparrow family?

The redpoll is a finch. "Related" to the pine siskin. They're one of the few species that hang around interior Alaska all winter. They look like little tennis balls with wings when it's cold and they are all fluffed up.
