Great idea but in my opinion the tree branches are a distraciton and
taking away from the real star of the show the clouds.
Don't abandon this FG stick idea as it will come in handy for future
photos. The sepia tone works well in your photo but in my opinion
black and white will work a bit better to enhance those great clouds.

PS Let me know if it is ok to tweak you image and repost to show you
better what I mean.

Take care,

Dwayne Oakes.

Here is the tweak, just a different take on the scene. You have some good
creative ideas skumar ! Hope this helps.

The decision to go with a sepia tone generally I agree with. That tone tends to add some drama, or enhance the existing drama within a shot. While I agree with Dwayne in that the tree limbs overwhelm the shot, there are inherent weaknesses in the shot that makes this effort fall short.

So take away the limbs. The remaining view is hindered by a combination of too few clouds that are undramatic, and a cityscape that is too centered in the vertical space of the frame. I would have used a bit wider angle lens and had the skyline sit at about 25% up from the bottom with the rest of the shot dominated by dramatic clouds.

That would have caught my attention. The good news is that you can surely attempt this and a few dozen other perspectives at your leisure.

Wow, thank you so much for putting in the effort to illustrate the point. This does look very different. I'll play around with Photoshop and PP and see what I can come up with. Do you think I'm missing a foreground subject though for the landscape?
