More like Ghostly Smoke photography. ;0)

What's werid, I was uploading some of these and then the error of the site popped up..
Now I feel like I did something..

here's how I did it:

I went and got a black foam board at target, open a box of incense, "which I sell in my online store".. and 2 of my lights...
My camera settings
*canon*
TV
f5.6 apeture
1/25 shutter
iso 100
white balance: shade
multi shots

I put one light, gently hanging over the top edge of the carry reflector and the other light in the back to the right.. which the smoke will flow that way..
* I will add a picture later *

lit the incense and had manual focus and just kept shooting..
Then I took the images into PSP Corel Photo Pro.. I have NIK software, did a glamour glow, dark/lighten center (did about 3 points), and adjusted slightly the histogram..

thanks for looking..

I've been wanting to do this and just haven't got around to doing it
more right than wrong. Appreciate knowing how you went about it.
Will have to give it a go like you have.

Does look rather ghostly Alice :nod

Quite an interesting subject to photograph.
There are several folks on the forum who also photograph SMOKE.
Look like a fun thing to do ...... thanks for sharing :D

Thanks for the comments..

It is.. at least it smells good... ;0)

I did another set up.....

iso:1600
manual mode
1/320 shutter
f5.6
white balance: flor. light..
I like the blue..

I set the foam black board ( at target or where ever, in the stationary department) long ways up
and set it on top of the washer in the garage..
I had one light face the left right towards the smoke
and I sat on the floor shooting up.
I think the most coolest smoke forms are up to the top..
I remember on one tutorial saying to catch it right when it leaves the incense stick.. but you get the same thing... here you can get so many different forms

I could of probaly used another light to the right.. I will do this again..before my allergies go really over board.
