I know you all can see this bird. But I had already put the type in, I like the type, and so forth. I kept trying to catch one of these things on the fly, :rofl , I finally decided that if they only stopped a "pole" stop, I would get one that way. the tern, may be type, put that in, too. What do you all do when the cable is out? g

ginger
that is as close as I got to getting a tern, Sunday. They were fishing, but not going down, boats all over the place, a marina, memorial day weekend.

Ginger,

The first one it too far away :uhoh Not to worry, I think most of us have hundreds (in my case probably thousands) of "just too far away" bird shots :rolleyes

The second one is much closer and much nicer :thumb :thumb I'm not sure that it's a tern though. To me, it looks more like one of the gulls that Troy shot at Atlantic City. Too much of the head is black, the underwing tips are also dark and the tail doesn't look like the terns signature split-tail :dunno It's still a nice shot :clap

Steve
Maybe it is a gull, was not acting or looking like any gull I have seen, but that is the largest shot I have, and even blowing it up sky high, I don't see a split tail.

Sorry. Just looking for things I haven't posted. (I had just been hit by a boat trailer, landing on the cement, etc. Maybe it was all in illusion. (This is an afterward to the below insistence that it was a tern, and I also am not sure of the spelling of that word above, is there a spell check anywhere on these things?)

Thanks, Steve, for looking.

It is a tern, I was shooting them. It was underexposed, and trying to rectify that kind of thing, especially in that shot, for no good reason, it just makes everything look fake. But I was shooting them, I saw the red bill or where ever it is, and the body is different, or it was. It was not a gull.

Sorry, don't mean to be sharp, I really appreciate your looking.

How about the telephone poles, good shot of them? rule of thirds there.:rofl

Hey Ginger,

Thats a pretty good BIF. I don't think its a tern though because my Sibley's doesn't show any terns with an all black head. Some have a black on the top but none have black on the bottom too. Whatever it is its a good capture. :thumb

Ginger,
Sorry to read about your mishap.:uhoh I hope you are OK.

It really doesn't matter what kind of bird it was, it's still a nice shot :thumb

Don't worry about coming off sharply. I've got thick skin when it comes to other people's images....LOL As far as looking at your work, I usually try to, whether I have the time to comment or not :D
