To add some images of a different sport I shot a Lacrosse match for a guy I work with. Now other parents are asking me to come to another match and photograph their kids. C&C are welcome as I intend on charging them for my time and effort.

If someone is paying, their critique is the most important. However, since you asked--I think the color and clarity on both shots is really good. The first shot suffers from having the focal point be the back of a helmet. Not sure too many parents will really want that. I would really try to make sure you're getting faces. Parents seem to value that over most other aspects.

Good luck--hope you enjoy the sport...

I'll agree with what the 1st poster said here. Looks like you have the equipment to get good quality shots, so just continue to work on filling the frame with action. Another word of advice, parents really like pictures of their kid, so if this is primarily a hobby for you (like it is for me) shoot lots of images and post them all for the parents to see. Just because you don't like the shot doesn't mean they won't.

Good luck, and have fun!

Thanks for the C&C I picked these shots for public showing primarily because they did not show faces. I was worried because I did not get a model release to show the faces.
I put the "good" shots in a password protected gallery. Over the weekend it got over 800 hits.

You do not need a model release to show on the web. You only need if you are going to sell commercially, like for an ad campaign.
