Hands down ... Memories On Tv (http://www.codejam.com/slideshow/index.htm). It's designed to burn the slideshow to DVD that can then be played on any DVD player. One can include music of your choice (assuming you have the MP3 files - not so hard :D). It will also generate panning and/or fade effects for each image in the show. You can control the effect, make it random, or a combination of both; for example specify random for the entire show but over-ride for a specific image. Pretty nice piece of software. I bought my copy on the recommendation of Shay Stephens (for those who remember him).

Disclaimer - nothing to disclaim as my ONLY association with them is as a customer.

I use showit. Actually I just got it a couple days ago and I am pretty impressed. It works pretty well.

Proshow Producer.... end of thread... Unless you know how to use flash! :D

There is a real divide between proshow and the others. Although, there can be a bit of a learning curve for proshow, its worth it!

My only qualm with proshow producer is that it is only for PC, so I am being made to keep on trying windows 7. :rofl

It is a great software. A little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it... :thumb

I use Adobe Premier Elements.

It works in layers...up to 99 I think....of video, stills, or music.

I'm also a huge fan of ProShow Producer. Not being Mac compatible is the only big drawback I see!!

I would by a windows-based PC just for Proshow Producer alone (even if I ran a Mac)! Mark Ridout, who is the world guru (google his name) for Proshow lives in our town and some of the stuff I've seen him put out is tremendous.

+1 for showit works great / customizable / fast loading time / you can link it to a smugmug gallery (so your customers can get prints) ....

Works for me :thumb

If on a Mac.... I use fotomagico. Very user friendly. Maybe not as advanced as Proshow but until Proshow gets made for Mac we Mac lovers are kinda stuck....
