Hello,

THis may be a popular question. Can someone point me to a previous guide to this maybe.
While I am asking for advice. What are the proper step for exporting iMovie 09 as well.

#1 IMovie
After the movie is done follow these steps..
#3 Export Movie
#4 Select size Large & Export
Just save this file on your Mac desktop then Upload it to SmugMug.
To find the file size right click movie before project properties look at the bottom of that screen it will give you size.
Look for Project Size.....
File size limit on SmugMug is 512MB.
Hope this helps you...

THanks Jonny. I assume the Large and Export handles all the codecs and puts it out as a Quicktime .mov
Would anyone know if I want to export iPhoto slideshow do I choose >export >Quicktime > settings as large or display ?
Am I to assume that it will produce the correct .mov file for smugmug?
Thanks!

If you're exported movie is in HD, dont follow Johnny's advice because the "Large" size is only 960x540. You want 1280x720.
From your iMovie, choose Share>Export Using Quicktime. Then under Export choose Movie To Quicktime Movie, then choose the Options button on the right & make it look like this:

As far as exporting an iPhoto slideshow, if you have the latest iLife '09, make a slideshow the way you want then choose the Export button on the bottom right. Then choose Custom Export then Export To Quicktime Movie. Choose Options & make it look just like you did before with your iMovie.

I do not show AAC as an option in the audio portion...which other would you recommend I try? Everything else works fine...or is there any need to compress the audio??? newbie at work, here.

It doesn't matter anyway as SmugMug will convert the audio to AAC. Just select MP3 or whatever.
