Sunday Engagement

I haven't finished processing the pics from a recent engagement session, but here are a few. These were taken at a local church on Sunday morning.

Cute couple, nice exposures.

My worry is that the gal will probably not like these photos as well as she would have if you had come at them from a little higher angle. In every photo you are shooting from below, and she has little "under chin issues" in all of them. You might be able to pull a little photoshop magic, but it is going to be a real pain. In #1 the blood vessel on her neck area really needs to be taken care of. Your DOF and focus are spot on, and I love that
To me, the best is #4, (even the chin is a little better) but I wish for a little more room on the bottom.

Thank you so much for the input, Heather. I can recrop #4 with more space at the bottom. I guess I need to get a step ladder! I tend to see the smile and overlook the neck issues. I'll have to work on that.

LOVING the last 3 of the 2nd set (you numbered one of them twice, so I'm not sure how to refer to them :D).

I like # 5 of the first batch, but what happens if you crop it much tighter at the sides? I find the edge of the building and the arch distracting rather than enhancing, but think it would be a great shot if it were just the plain stone bg.

I agree with heather on the shooting angles....the second set look MUCH better.

I carry a folding 3 step ladder everywhere I go. I have a lighter one step one, but prefer the added flexability with the taller one. I picked it up on the cheap at wally world....and it works for non-photography tasks as well.

Oh....and your flash balance looks great!:thumb

They paid a flat rate for the shoot and high res images on a disc.

When I was looking at the first set I was thinking, these are nice. Then I saw the second set and was wow!! Love the images of the second set better. I'll bet she will be so pleased with the images you've captured.

I've been working alot on improving those low angle shots through the magic of editing. Many of them are looking pretty nice now. I've definitely learned my lesson for the wedding (yes, I'll be shooting the wedding in May). I'll be using a step ladder! Anyway, I'm taking all week to work on these so I can cull some more and improve those I'll be presenting. Than you so much to everyone for your help and critique.
