Hello,
I am wondering if this feature exists (since without it I don't think it's feasible for me to create a menu of galleries for navbar in the first place).
I would like to somehow automatically generate the list of all my Categories->SubCategories->Galleries that I could put into a menu on the navbar. I see a lot of people use it and I'd like to have something like that, but if I upload a few galleries a day it would take too much effort to keep the html code behind it updated.
So is there a way to update the code? Ie I'd set this up once and than cut-n-paste all the gallery listing.
Thank you,

I'm not aware of anyway to do this. But even if there were an automated way to grab the structure (you might try using the API, or posting in the hacks & tricks forum (http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25) to see if anyone has done this), you should re-think that idea. I just took a quick look at your site, and I believe you have too many galleries to present within a navbar menu. A list that large would be overwhelming to your viewers.

Thanks, Denise. I agree that some of my categories or subcats have a large number of galleries (29 is the most I think) but I still think it would provide a quick navigation tool for either glimpsing at what my structure is or going to a gallery that the user is already familiar with.
For example, currently, users have no way of knowing what is inside a category unless they click on it (aside from the total stats). The drop-down menu would allow them to see the names of sub-cats and galleries within. I think it is a great way to improve browsing.
Same goes for a nested gallery that you are trying to reach if it's a few levels deep. If you have a dropdown menu it takes a second. Otherwise you have to click - wait until the page loads, click again - wait for another page to load, etc.
The two other hosting sites I tried before coming to SmugMug - ZenFolio and Fotki.com both offer directory structure on the left side of the screen as a basic tool for browsing one's galleries. Smugmug doesn't do it but allows to do it via a navbar hack, which is great.
I have another question. Do you know if I can put the navbar menu in the lower left corner of my current banner, not below it?
Thanks, Vic

It looks like Allen has an answer that is much more useful (instead of my I don't think you can do this). Sounds like he was able to generate a list of categories and galleries using StarExplorer, see http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=125170.
