View Full Version : ARGHHH - Framechannel dumbs down their interface

Within the last month Framechannel seems to have removed access to all the "custom" settings for channels. I used to be able to set how many photos it would draw from a feed. Now the custom settings don't seem to be accessible and on new channels it only displays the first 5 photos repeatedly.
Does anyone know of how to access this on Framechannel - or is there a fix on the Smugmug end?
If this is the wave of Framechannels future, maybe smugmug could provide some of their traditional controls on the feed? Like randomizing the first 5 photos in the feed, etc.
Very frustrating.

Djsdjs, I believe the Framechannel custom settings are still there; but you need to go to "My Account" and then "Edit Channel Rules" on the right to access them.
I'm having a different problem with Framechannel. My Smugmug feeds are extremely slow. On the Framechannel site I can sometimes see the photo download progressing it's so slow. I experience similar lag on the my Kodak wireless frame. Have you noticed this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Frank - thanks so much! Boy they really buried that - would be hard to believe it wasn't intentional.
I am sorry I have not observed the problem you are talking about.
Perhaps you are sending the full size photo? I think you can alter the smugmug RSS feed parameters to send a smaller size of the photo.

Djsdjs - I'm using Large size photos with the following feed:
http://MYNICKNAME.smugmug.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=nicknameRecentPhotos&Data=MYNICKNAME&format=rss200&Size=Large&ImageCount=200
Could you tell me what feed you're using?
Thanks,
Frank
