was in Atlantic City over the weekend. People might have their disagreements over Donald Trump but if he had anything to do with the "gulls" out here. he did it up right! They are so much more handsome then your typical beach gull, they look kinda like they're wearing tuxedos.... I didnt have the right lens for this kinda thing ( the 16-35L is with its rightfull owner ) but manged to get one image i thought was decent.....

That's a cool shot! The blurred background really sets it off.

Really great shot Troy... I think this one is print worthy. All the gulls we have are so so. Shots like this are like golfing... You can take a hundred bad shots, but it only takes one to let you know how much you love the game.
Peace.

Really, really good flying rat shot. Great job! (and you're right - that certainly is an "uptown" gull)

Troy,
I think you may have missed Andy's point. You are concentrating so much on the gull (which came out very nicely BTW :thumb ) but most folks are talking about the whole image, which the gull is just a part of. That gull against a blue sky would be good, but not really good and not all that interesting. What sets this shot apart, IMO, is the interesting blurred background and compostion (whether it was intended or not) AND the sharply focused gull.
Andy's always nice, but he's not going to blow smoke up your skirt. It is a very nice shot and you should be proud of it :clap I know I sure would be and I'm not trying to be nice, just truthful :D

thanx for the truth Steve! Just thought maybe Andy was buttering me for something...:wink
I was shooting so quickly, the blurred background was not intended, but I do like it also!
Thanx Again!

What a great catch! I've never been to Atlantic City since it was "revitalized" and gambling was allowed. You got just the right blur behind the bird -- and purple umbrellas? Is this part of a general color scheme?
You either were very lucky, or your persistence paid off! Combination of both?
