Right now I have my Ivanlockert.com registered with Domains priced right, but I'm getting ready to venture into a different approach with my site and going to be getting another domain and was curious what makes godaddy.com or other sites better then someone else.
I looked at godaddy and the price is a little higher then domains priced right. Of course those are the only 2 I have to go by I didn't search for other I just hear people saying Godaddy is the best and don;t really know why.

Thanks for the advise and help.

I am not sure that I would vote godaddy the best, although for my purposes of using smugmug, the godaddy route was easiest for the application.
In general you need to consider the bandwidth, reliability, the extras thrown in, and the price.

Hi,

I did some research several years ago, and decided to register my domain name separately from the company that holds my site. I use Namescheap.com for name and have been very happy using lunarpages.com for my site. I have several sites with them and they are very good, with excellent features and at a great price.

I'm a GoDaddy fan...never had a problem...some issues due to my ignorance, which were rapidly, clearly explained/resolved - in English I could understand - by support - 24/7 - live human, relatively NO wait-time. They do not have a toll-free number - but we pretty much all have cell phones with minutes anyway, right?

They often have good deals on domain names - different extensions. And whopping discounts for multi-year contracts.

Now if only I could get rid of FairPoint and get a REAL phone company....

I've been with www.joker.com (http://www.joker.com) for years with no problems whatsoever.

I have used GoDaddy for years, definitely like to have my domain names separate from my provider.

I think the online tools at GoDaddy are very good and easy to use. They are a big enough name now that I doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon. I have never had a problem with them. (I have not ever hosted a site there I only use them for domain names.)

Unless Danica Causes them too much grief with her on track antics:D

I also have been with Godaddy for many years....sometimes if Yahoo has really good sale (.coms for say 1.99=2.99).....I would buy there and then transfer ro Godaddy......I even told them what I was doing before doing it and got all the instructions on doing it......if we have to make changes with out SM accts....normally I just go email support and tell them i have a SM acct and this is what is happening tell me how to ix it and I get a reply usually with a "we did it for you have a good day".........
