Tutorial for Drop Down Menus?

HI,
I've been reading through a lot of message boards looking for a tutorial for drop downs on the menu bar but I haven't found one yet. Is there such a tutuorial? I've seen lots of people asking for help in fixing their menu bars but I would like to find a good place to start and try it myself before asking for help. Just looking for a good place to start.
