I like that 3rd one. Since it's not saturated with much color, have you thought of B&W? You could have fun with it with the water texture the way it is.

I like how in the first one it kinda looks like a progression of how they open their wings.

Hi there.......... I love to watch Pelicans in flight they are like small planes as they circle around, we get them down by the boat ramp, and sometimes when I'm out looking to see if it's my brother or cousin flying over you can see the Pelicans looking for Thermals and going up higher and higher and higher in a circle as they ride it up.
My brother and my cousin both fly UltraLights, when they come over my house they always do a circle and fly lower so I know it's them :D
Their flight pattern takes them along the coast, and I live on the coast so they are not out of their legal flying space.
I noticed your Pelicans are the White ones with Black markings, where are the Brown ones found?? all over USA or only in certain area?
Thanks for sharing........ Skippy (Australia)

hey Jeff,
I really like the third shot. Its very well composed. :thumb The first two seem a tad soft.

We saw our first brown pelicans this weekend. They must have "returned" while we were in NY :):
We had some white pelicans on the east side of the bay and we noticed they were on the water in a bunch. I did a google and found out they "fish" together on the water.
The brown ones dive into the water to catch their fish.
The white ones are larger than the brown ones too!
I've read rumors of some white pelicans in the baylands, but I've never spotted them there. Unfortunately the place I used to watch them they are returning to the wild (it was a salt pond) and a lot of the water has gone out of the area. We didn't see the white pelicans return to that area last year.
Anyone in the San Francisco area know where the white pelicans are, please let me know?
I did see some flying around Benecia when we went to the camel races one time. But I don't usually hang in that area.
